Undergraduate Students
Interested in joining the SALUD Lab as a Research Assistant (RA)?
We are seeking motivated and ambitious students who want to be a part of a research team! RAs are expected to work six hours per week for at least two consecutive semesters. RAs must attend weekly lab meetings and participate in lab trainings and activities. Responsibilities include:
Survey development
Data management
Literature reviews
Transcription
Translation
In-person and online data collection
What are we looking for in a RA? All undergraduate students are welcome to apply regardless of prior experience! However, preference will be given to applicants who meet or exceed the following criteria:
Major in Psychology or related fields (e.g., Child and Adolescent Development, Gender and Women Studies, Chicano/a Studies, Sociology, Public Health)
GPA of 3.5 or higher
Are freshman, sophomores, or juniors
Have taken or are currently enrolled in any of the following classes: PSY 150 (Intro to Psychology), PSY 320 (Statistical Methods), and PSY 321 (Research Methods)
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Have completed trainings through the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) | CSU Northridge
What happens after you apply? We accept RAs on a rolling basis, depending on need and availability. If a position is open and we want to learn more about you, we will contact you to schedule an interview. If we do not contact you this semester, you may hear from us in future semesters as positions open.
